'The only way to understand Junked up Newt is to go and see
them and either stand and stare slack jawed or dance your little socks off. An outstanding orchestrated cacophony of percussion
with bits of rock, blues, rap and the odd choral moment thrown in for good measure all played on a variety of junk with guitars
and vocals on board too, they are something else entirely...like Scrapheap Challenge crossed with the best party you've ever been to.. Outstanding 10/10' - PUNKEMON

what
is junked up newt?
Junked Up Newt is a twenty-two legged
beast from Chudleigh. Every Summer it emerges from hibernation to play shows across England, beating merry hell out of gas
pipes, shopping trolleys, tin pipes, table frames and other disposables. It's about ten years old.
what is the chudleigh mad project? The
project was started in 1993 with the idea of providing a week of music, art and drama for children in Chudleigh and surrounding
areas. Over the years it has expanded to include two drama workshop groups, a regular art session and two junk bands (Junked
Up Newt and their second generation counterparts, Pale Blue Elastic). Of course, the original MAD week still continues every
Summer, and the project is always on the look out for new ideas and ways to expand. how do I book junked up newt? Email
Liz, the bands co-ordinator at junkedupnewt@btopenworld.com. how can I get in direct contact with members of junked up newt? Sign our guestbook - we check it often and reply slightly less often. Better still - come to a show. |
